  Empower
The Empower shoes allow physically limited people to put on and take off shoes without having to bend down.

This product is addressed to physically challenged people, who have difficulties due to ailments to put on or take off their shoes. In the sole of the shoe lies a simple mechanism, which enables a person to get into the shoe without the hassle of bending over and tying the shoelaces. When the shoe is unlocked, untied, it sits slightly arched which increases the opening for the user slide the foot in. When stepped in, pressure is applied to the mechanism which fastens the foot hole while straightening the shoe. Stepping on the heel with the other shoe opens up the mechanism again, allowing the user to freely step out of the shoe. It is as easy as a slip-on, while offering the security of a full shoe.

Empower provides an easier everyday life with more flexibility and freedom.

  Finding of the Jury:
The jury selected this product because it deals with a real problem that many people have, especially older people or people with disabilities. The act of putting on a shoe and taking it off has been innovatively solved utilizing no shoes laces.

Although the concept could be integrated into various shoes, the aesthetics could be reconsidered to demonstrate the function of the shoe.
