  Nite Lite
The project is a light cone with a diameter of 1.5 meters that illuminates the darkness around a person. It consists of of a glass fiber membrane, equipped with light-emitting diodes, which can be attached to any umbrella. The power supply is ensured by two Mignon batteries and it is installed only once and remains a component of the umbrella. It folds automatically when the umbrella is closed. With a power switch at the inner end of the spokes the light can be switched on and off.

  Finding of the Jury:
“NITE_LITE” works with the inner space of the umbrella. The strength of this project lies in the fact that it is a small, low cost device that can be integrated with any kind of umbrella. It deals with every-day issues like battling the lack of light on a gloomy day or making a person visible for cars when it rains.
The disadvantage was that the product looks somehow old fashioned. Why not emphasize the functionality of this innovation with a more modern design?
