Digital Playground
This model is a mobile unit which allows children to capture sounds and images. These sounds and images will be transferred into “virtual bricks”. Therefore, children can create musical instruments using the recorded sounds.

Finding of the Jury:
The product attempts to adress the fact that nowadays, children spend too much time in front of the computer and it tries to reverse that behaviour. Conceptually it requires the children to obtain images or sounds coming from outside. Then it integrates it into a game board, not a screen, which enables the interaction of two kids. There they can develop a virtual world of their own. The “Digital Playground” requires children to go out and collect images and sounds in order to integrate them into a kind of a mutual game board. In interaction with another kid they can develop a virtual sound world of their own.
