x-wing
This concept laptop ‘x-wing’ is aimed at people who frequently have to give presentations to small groups or who like to share and discuss their work with others.
For this reason the laptop features the possibility of rotating the monitor horizontally by 145 degrees, whereby a second, smaller PDA monitor becomes visible, attached to the rotating mechanism. The presenter can watch on the small monitor what his/her audience can see on the main monitor. This allows the presenter to keep eye contact with his/her audience, which can be of importance, especially in countries in the Far East, such as Japan or Korea, where lack of eye contact is often regarded as impolite or even with mistrust.
Furthermore, the laptop‘s pivot simplifies working in cramped situations, such as on planes or trains, since the angle of the monitor can always be brought into an optimal position without affecting the positioning of the keyboard.

Finding of the Jury:
This product is an effective, practical improvement to laptop communication in a particular professional or personal situation (the ability to see and show your screen at the same time) that is also sensitive to the different cultural mores of presentation.
The design aesthetics of the product feel conventional and do not provide a unique visual identity. Further development in the design is recommended.
