Nanodoc
The central function of ‘NANODOC’ lies on the one hand in the monitoring and analyzing of several health parameters, and on the other hand in the discovery and removal of plaques in the arteries.
The independently working system moves through the human blood circulatory system, records information and becomes active when necessary. The collected data can then be read with a device outside the human body by medical personnel. This way a precise diagnosis can be made together with a individually tailored recommendation, allowing the patient to live a healthier lifestyle.
With ‘NANODOC’ plaque deposits in the arteries (arteriosclerosis) – one of the leading causes of death in industrialized countries – can be avoided. Furthermore, unpleasant and sometimes painful medical examinations, such as x-rays and blood sugar measurements, may become a thing of the past.

Finding of the Jury:
The jury was impressed by this attempt to envision and design an effective healthcare product application in the important yet still unrealized field of nanotechnology. The product raises important questions about new technology and the role of design in its development.
