  Yuport
‘YUPORT’ is an urban, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional individual car transport.

Magnetic-levitation technology is used to transport passengers in wagons safely and reliably through the city, irrespective of traffic conditions on the ground. In contrast to conventional railroad tracks, ‘YUPORT’ requires only one basic beam for both directions of travel, consequently reducing costs and saving space. This is made possible by the use of rotating cabins which allow for upside-down and reverse rotation. This rotation is always conducted at the terminal stop and allows for one vehicle to move on the beam surface, while the other vehicle moves on the suspension track in the opposite direction.

  Finding of the Jury:
The jury was impressed by the functionality of the two-directional track and the reversibility of the trains, which can operate practically in a dense urban space. We are also impressed by the quality of the model and the well executed research into the history of urban mobility and its opportunities for the future.
