Strider
‘Strider’ combines the advantages of conventional sailing and modern aquatic sport culture. This new approach merges elements of catamaran sailing with elements of kite boarding.
Sitting between two extensions the user is pulled by the kite dragon. Control is executed via a guider using the feet. The steering movement is transmitted solely via cable reels to the rudder blade in order to keep operation and configuration as simple and robust as possible. The low gauge and the rotatable rudder make starts in shallow water possible. A wide base as well as a new generation of fins enable a high level of capsize stability. A targeted choice of materials keep the weight low, yet guarantee resistibility.
A high degree of mobility is not only needed on the water, but also on dry land. For this reason the floating devices can be swung under the frame and secured. Therefore assembly work is reduced to a minimum and smooth transport on the highway is possible.
