Prop and Fold
‘Prop and Fold’ is a bi-functional support system designed for people with leg disabilities. This product can be transported easily and allows for ultimate comfort.
The project’s primary function is to reduce the impact to the underarm zone, allowing it to be used for both short and long periods. It also features an integrated collapsible adjustment system that makes it easy to adjust to the desired height. Due to its solid design, it offers stability on the ground. It can be used indoors as well as outdoors. This product provides a high degree of comfort to the user, making for enjoyable rest periods.
In its second function, the support structure is folded, allowing the user to assume a sitting position. Similar products exist but may create injuries or discomfort.
‘Prop and Fold’ is made of aluminum, giving the appearance of a robust, yet light design. Its design and material make ‘Prop and Fold’ an affordable product.

Finding of the jury:
Whereas similar products to date lack a consolidated design, this project presents a simple and striking solution. The proposal poses a basic solution with great advantages for the user with an injured or disabled leg, offering increased walking support and greater ease in standing and sitting.
