  BraunPrize 1986
Sponsored by Braun AG to the tune of DM 35,000, the "BraunPrize for Technical Design" was presented at the "Institut für Neue Technische Form" in Darmstadt. This was the eighth time that the competition had been held since 1968.

330 entrants from 30 countries took part in the 1986 BraunPrize competition.
The jury awarded three prizes of DM 8,000, 7,000 and 5,000 for the rail parcel transport system by Urs Greutmann (Zürich/Switzerland), the standup wheelchair by Andreas Bergsträßer (Forstinning) and the flexible electric vehicle by Angela Knoop (Hamburg).

The jury also gave five projects a special mention and a prize of DM 3,000 each.
