Brain-Computer Interface System
This system consists of an electrode cap which collects the brain waves of the patient and a message handling processor which analyzes and stores the data. If action is required a loud warning sound would be set off. Wireless communication is useful when familiy or nursing staff is not in the immediate vicinity. At the same time the message handling processor will transmit the patient‘s status to the doctor and via a link to the doctor‘s key will inform him of a possible emergency. This system not only changes the practice of nursing but may also save the patient‘s life.
