  Ring
‘Ring’ is an alarm clock especially designed for couples and deaf-mute people, which, contrary to contemporary products, awakes individuals by way of gentle vibration rather than an acoustic signal.

The product consists of a base and two rings which can be worn at the finger pad, the most sensitive part of the finger. The base is used to set the desired wake-up time and also functions as charging station for the electrical power supply of the rings. The innovative function of the alarm clock is made possible through the use of a micro vibration unit and a microchip.

‘Ring’ transforms the awakening experience from a startle caused by an unpleasant signal into a considerate and gentle awakening by way of motion which does not disturb the sleep of the other person.

  Finding of the jury:
Products with tactile user experience and sensory design open opportunities for many future applications, moving beyond commonly used visual and acoustic interfaces. This handy solution is functional and aesthetically well designed with good relevance of usage.
